Islas Marietas Whale & Birdwatching Private Tour focuses on providing a description of the Natural History of Banderas Bay and the geological features that correlate with the Sea of Cortez as well as a description of the diversity of marine life that inhabit these waters while documenting the beauty of the wild life we encounter and the marine landscapes of the bay. This tour is also considered to be a Whale Watching & Birdwatching Tour

This tour includes: Bilingual Marine Scientist and Naturalist assistant as your guides, illustrated field guides and didactic material, Hydrophones and speaker system (to listen the whales and dolphins vocalizations underwater), West Marine inflatable life vests, dry bags, lunch, fruit, soft drinks and bottled purified water. We do not produce plastic waste on our tours!
On our Islas Marietas Whale & Birdwatching Private Tour we have limited the number of passengers on board to a 90% capacity ensure safety and comfort of all our guests. This private tour is a perfect way for a family or group of friends to explore the ocean environment of Banderas Bay, observe the flora and fauna of the bay and visit the incredible site of Marietas Islands.
This Private Tour provides perfect opportunities to observe and photograph the amazing landscape of these islands and a variety of open water species such as Bottlenose Dolphins, Spotted dolphins, Rough toothed dolphins, Bryde’s whales, Humpback whales (from December through March), Giant mantas, sea turtles, and occasionally Spinner dolphins, False killer whales and even Orcas.
This trip is also bird lovers delight with 89 different bird species, of which 16 are resident year round such as the Blue Footed Booby Bird. We provide an experienced bird watching expert on board during this tour to further enhance your understanding of this unique ecosystem and to assist with species identification.
During the journey, we describe the natural history of Banderas Bay and its relationship with Baja California and the Sea of Cortez. We also discuss the major oceanographic and geological features of the bay and observe marine pelagic wildlife such as whales, mantas, dolphins and exotic bird species including the Magnificent Frigate bird, Tropic bird, Blue Footed Booby birds, terns, gulls and more.
FOR SAFETY AND COMFORT REASONS ON BOARD IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO INFORM US IF ANYONE IN YOUR PARTY IS OVERSIZED OR HAS A WEIGHT ABOVE 265 POUNDS, THIS IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE PROPERLY AND PROVIDE THE RIGHT LIFE VEST AND GEAR TO EVERYONE PARTICIPATING ON OUR TOURS. ALSO. FOR THE SAME REASON IT IS IMPORTANT TO LET US KNOW THE NUMBER OF ADULTS AND THE AGE OF CHILDREN IN YOUR PARTY TO PROVIDE THE RIGHT LIFEVEST FOR EVERYONE PARTICIPATING IN OUR TOURS.
