This tour is for 10 or 12 passengers maximum. Islas Marietas Whale & Birdwatching Tour focuses on providing a description of Banderas Bay and the features that correlate with the Sea of Cortez. We describe the diversity of marine life that inhabits these waters while documenting the beauty of the wild life we encounter and the marine landscapes of the bay.

The price of admission is a flat rate per participant regardless the age and set in Mexican Pesos.

Islas Marietas Sightseeing & Birdwatching Tour provides the opportunity to enjoy and photograph the landscapes of the southernmost islands of the Sea of Cortez. It is located in second largest bay of North America off Puerto Vallarta and hosts a variety of marine wildlife such as whales, dolphins, turtles and a variety of pelagic birds such as Blue Footed Booby Birds among others.

For comfort and safety it is very important to let us know the number of adults and the age of children in your party and if anyone is oversized or has a weight above 265 pounds to provide the right lifevest for everyone participating in our tours.

Description

Islas Marietas Sightseeing & Birdwatching Tour focuses on providing a description of Banderas Bay and the features that correlate with the Sea of Cortez. We describe the diversity of marine life that inhabits these waters while documenting the beauty of the wild life we encounter and the marine landscapes of the bay.

Available Dates: Available from April 6th through December 6th

This tour includes: Bilingual Marine Scientist and Naturalist assistant as your guides, illustrated field guides and didactic material, West Marine self inflatable life vests, dry bags, lunch, fruit, soft drinks and bottled purified water. We do not produce plastic waste on our tours!

This tour is a perfect way for a family or group of friends to explore the ocean environment of Banderas Bay, observe open water fauna and visit the incredible site of Marietas Islands.

This Tour provides perfect opportunities to observe and photograph the amazing landscape of these islands and a variety of open water species such as Humpback whales (from December through March), Bottlenose Dolphins, Spotted dolphins, Rough toothed dolphins, Bryde’s whales, Giant mantas, Sea turtles, and occasionally Spinner dolphins, False killer whales and even Orcas.

This trip is also bird lovers delight with 89 different bird species, of which 16 are resident year round such as the Blue Footed Booby and the Brown Booby Bird. We provide an experienced bird watching expert on board during this tour to further enhance your understanding of this unique ecosystem and to assist with species identification.

During the journey, we describe the natural history of Banderas Bay and its relationship with Baja California and the Sea of Cortez. We also discuss the major oceanographic and geological features of the bay while we observe the marine wildlife that we encounter.
